It is one of the most spectacular routes of the Aurunci Mountains Park, a chain of mountains
overlooking the Gulf of Gaeta, close to the town of Formia on the sea.
After a little tour in the quaint village of Maranola, we will start the climb until Mount Altino, passing through oak and beeches forest to reach the tip of Mount Redentore where the statue of Jesus is located at an altitude of 1300 meters a.s.l. and a little further down the church of San Michele built
into a natural cave right below an enormous rocky wall.
Here the sea view offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Gaeta, Mount Vesuvius and the Pontine islands
Interesting from an anthropological and environmental viewpoint
Technical level: difficult
