Starting point: The appointment is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. in Itri, at the “Piazzale Carabinieri di Italia” where it will be possible park the car (free parking available). You will be greeted by a guide who will give you the e-bike and helmet.

Description: An e-bike excursion on the ancient “Via Appia”, in the most evocative stretch between Itri and Fondi districts, among ancient forts, stories of bandits, to discover the origins of “Cecubo” wine, the elixir of the ancient Romans. Visit and tasting in the winery.

With our guide you will discover a very suggestive stretch of the ancient “Via Appia”, and riding an e-bike, a pedal assisted bicycle, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the excursion without too much effort, among archeology and excellent products.

Who is it for:

The tour involves riding an e-bike on a medium/easy route, on low-traffic trades and mountain paths, and is therefore suitable for people who know how to ride a bike on undemanding dirt roads. It is possible to participate with a 4-legged friend in tow, a trolley for a maximum weight of 25 kg will be provided. The tour is also suitable for children who are at least 140 cm tall and who know how to ride a bike. For children it is possible to request a special trolley.

Biking

You go along a part of the “Via Francigena” until you reach the ancient “Via Appia”, which in the stretch from Itri to Fondi districts still retains the typical Roman stone pavement, as well as numerous testimonies of ancient times. We could admire the small fort of Sant'Andrea, built on the remains of the Temple of Apollo, which was the scene of battles even in the Bourbon period with the vicissitudes of the bandit known as “Fra Diavolo”. The route continues up to the “Monti Cecubi” winery where there will be a tasting with organic wine of “Monte Cecubi” winery and selection of local products. After the tasting we will continue towards Itri dictrict through secondary roads to pick up the cars and end the tour.

It is possible to participate with your pet. (up to a weight of 25 kg) by a single-wheel cushioned trolley suitable for the bike.
